Vendor Selection (For Fun and Profit)

Whatever the nature of your information management initiative, sooner or later you will find yourself having to select a vendor with which to partner in order to meet your objectives. Figuring out which one is “best” can be something of a torturous process, and choosing poorly can be financially – and professionally! – catastrophic.

Since the best way to tackle this issue is head-on – New England Patriots fans should forgive the metaphor on this Day After the Super Bowl – here are a few key criteria to bear in mind when arriving at that point. Some background is provided in this accompanying video, as is information related to a special offer for our highly-regarded checklist of 26 Key Questions for Selecting a Vendor.

  • Background: Flash in the pan or established player?
  • Scope of Services: One-stop shop or part of a team?
  • Experience: Have they done this before? Can they? What result can you expect?
  • Technical Fit: Does their technology blend well with yours?
  • Organizational Fit: Does their schedule, culture, and business model match up with yours?

All just part of the service!
